How Unique are Silver Shield MiniMintage Limited Edition Rounds and Why?

The short, thirteen-year production history of Silver Shield rounds defines its uniqueness for two reasons. One, Mr. Duane is the only silver coin artist, and designer, who has succeeded in this niche market for that length of time.  And secondly, unlike all of other coins, or rounds, available on the market, Chris’ are produced in MiniMintage quantities making them both rare, and at the same time, valuable.

The adjective “unique” can be applied to individuals, items or circumstances with varied effects. The word is very often overused by both writers, and speakers, when describing somewhat tedious situations. It’s overuse in announcements, promotions or introductory speeches, is similar to the overuse of the word “excited”. As such, the word “excited” is routinely, and annoyingly, used with reference to many mundane events, under the erroneous assumption that it’s usage will actually make the ordinary seem extraordinary. Unfortunately, that rarely happens. People can sense when the word is used as an overt ploy or simply as a gratuitous prompt.

But, if the word “unique” is used appropriately, and it is correctly applied to a truly unique person, place or thing, there is no question of its effectiveness. It just feels right.

Now, according to The Oxford Dictionary, the word “unique” is defined as, “the quality of being particularly remarkable, special or unusual.”

The Merrian-Webster’s Dictionary definition for “unique” is as follows, “departing from what is ordinary, usual, or to be expected.”

Unique, as defined by The Cambridge Dictionary, states, “being the only existing one of its type or, more generally, unusual, or special in some way.”

Dictionary.com has multiple definitions for the adjective ”unique” including, “existing as the only one or as the sole example; single; solitary in type or characteristics.”  Another explanation included on their website is,  “ having no like or equal; unparalleled; incomparable.” Lastly, Dictionary.com also includes the definition for “unique” as, “limited in occurrence to a given class, situation, or area.”

To those of you who are already familiar with the MiniMintages by Silver Shield, it will come as no surprise, that every one of the definitions for “unique” accurately describe Chris’ rounds. You can sense the appropriateness of applying that particular adjective to his coins. It fits and it’s on-target.  His rounds are truly the best silver coins produced today with the purest silver, excellent craftsmanship and exceptionally creative designs. They are both beautiful and unique.

Mr. Duane’s rounds are one of the very few entities to which the usage of the term “unique” can safely, soundly and sanctimoniously be construed as absolutely suitably applied. In fact, the dictionaries could use photos of his rounds as exemplary examples of the word’s meaning and no one would question their appropriateness.

Chris’ MiniMintages by Silver Shield are struck exclusively by GSM and they are unquestionably the most UNIQUE silver coins on the market and are bound to become treasured family heirlooms. They are truly  Signs of the Times. Enjoy!
