The Year of the Horse Silver Shield Round (2026 Chinese Zodiac)
What the 2026 Year of the Horse Represents
Chris’ new round, The Year of the Horse, powerfully illustrates the 2026 sign of the Chinese Zodiac. Last year, 2025, was the year of the Snake and next year will be the year of the Goat. The zodiac is rhythmic, and as a result, the horse will return again in 2038.
The zodiac signs are repeated in a 12 year cycle which is based on the lunar calendar. These include the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Chinese legend states that the order of their zodiac was determined during a “Great Race”, which was organized by the supreme ruler of Heaven, the Jade Emperor. He is the highest ranking deity in Chinese religious folklore.
Shengxiao Meaning and Why It Matters
The Chinese refer to the 12 signs of the zodiac as Shengxiao or Shuxiang which, when translated into English, means “born resembling”. As a result, when a person is born under a certain sign of the zodiac, it is believed by the Chinese that the person is imbued with certain personality and physical traits which are represented by the animal itself. The animal can also influence socioeconomic, cultural and spiritual energy during that year as well.
People born under the sign of the Horse are considered to have both outgoing personalities and charismatic natures. They are believed to also possess excellent communication skills. The Chinese believe that the sign of the Horse will inevitably help them become leaders and heroes, as well.
Why the Horse Has a Reputation for Leadership
The most important expectation is that they will become leaders. This is because, historically, horses were only owned by those who had attained the highest station in Chinese life. This included the country's nobility and their military commanders. As a result, the Chinese believe that the individual's Horse sign portends a future as a political leader and/or a military hero. The sign of the Horse is also considered to be the most energetic sign of the zodiac, which is also a physical requirement demanded of leaders.
The Horse also brings with it some downsides, including a predisposition towards impatience, which is considered the most annoying aspect of the sign. Also, primarily due to the incredible talents and abilities associated with people born under the sign of the Horse, they also have a tendency to try and do too much. This often results in “spreading themselves too thin”. This propensity not only undermines their ability to accomplish personal goals but can interfere with their horse-driven forward motion too.
To say the least, the Horse is an enthralling sign of the zodiac and Chris’ new strike, The Year of the Horse, reflects all of the dynamic traits associated with it, including the sensations of power, motion, strength and purpose. These are all enviable attributes that anyone would be happy to possess.
