Soldiers of the Cross coin: Honoring America's Brave Warriors

Faith Transcends Time

America has always produced exceptionally brave warriors. Granted, their heritage is primarily European where brave soldiers are also prevalent but, throughout America’s history, she has been blessed with an inordinate number of courageous, and literally, fearless fighters and defenders of righteousness, freedom and liberty.

Where does their bravery stem from?

We know that true courage isn’t inherited, although there is a tendency within certain families. We know it can’t be taught or learned, although training can give the impression of courage. We know it can’t be given to someone like a coat or a car, although wearing body armor and riding in a tank can engender a sense of valor.

So, where exactly does the courage to do battle with unspeakable evil, while risking life and limb, come from?

Soldiers of the Cross Proof Round Silver Shield

The simple answer is it comes from Christ. Men raised as Christians are imbued with Christ’s life story and His teachings. More importantly, they internalize His promise of salvation, and as a result, they do not fear evil or death.

As a result of Christ’s devotion to his human family, even unto His death, young men have striven to follow His example and have literally taken courage from His life. These brave men are soaked with Christ’s courage while they endeavor to emulate His devotion to mankind and His sacrifice on behalf of His beloved children.

Throughout our history, our Christian young men have continuously, and readily, sacrificed their lives for others. And the reason? They love deeply, they feel deeply and they devote themselves to the protection and defense of their families, and by association, their neighbors, community, and their Christian country solely due to Christ’s influence on their lives.

When courage and bravery are required, whether during a bad car accident, a devastating hurricane or a destructive war, they are the first responders on the scene. While others run away from terror, these Christian men run towards it to provide needed assistance, or if necessary, to bravely do battle with evil. As American citizens, we should be profoundly grateful for their quiet and unselfish devotion, even to their death, to our safety, our comforts, our lives and our liberties.

Chris’ new coin, Soldiers of the Cross, exemplifies this valiant heritage which has been passed down from one generation of American warrior to the another for over 250 years. These young men were, and continue to be, proud members of the Sons of Liberty and the Band of Brothers in Christ.

Their shared faith in Christ becomes a brotherhood where they have each other’s back. But more importantly, their mutual courage under duress exemplifies their Christian values, and as such, they become truly invincible.
